Gomaa's double gives Masry winning start in the Confederation Cup group stage

Egyptian side Masry started their Confederation Cup group stage in style as the coastal side claimed a 2-0 win over Uniao Desportiva do Songo of Mozambique at Port Said stadium on Sunday.
Striker Ahmed Gomaa scored twice in the 36th and 52nd minutes respectively giving his side a deserved win.
The 26-year-old met a pinpoint cross from substitute Mohamed 'Grendo' Abdel-Latif with a nice header to open the scoring for the hosts before netting the second seven minutes after the break when he latched onto another neat pass from 'Grendo' to race past the defender and score from a close-range.
Masry could have won by a larger margin if they Grendo and Salah's headers were not denied by the bar in the first half.
Sunday's win helped Masry top Group B with three points with a better goal difference ahead of Moroccan side Renaissance Sportive de Berkane who defeated Al-Hilal of Sudan 1-0 earlier in the day.
Masry will face Al-Hilal on 16 May in Omdurman while Uniao Desportiva do Songo will host Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.
