Egypt Army refers 164 suspects to public prosecution for inciting Cairo violence Protesters accused of attacking security forces after military clampdown on peaceful sit-in sets off three days of violence in downtown Cairo
The Egyptian Army on Sunday referred suspects to the public prosecution on charges of inciting the clashes between the military and protesters on Qasr El-Aini Street, which have left 10 dead since Friday morning. The suspects include nine women, according to the state-run news agency MENA. They face charges of setting a number of buildings on fire, assaulting military and police personnel, and throwing stones and Molotov cocktails. More than 500 protesters have been injured after the Army clamped down on a sit-in outside the Cabinet offices off Qasr El-Aini Street early Friday, a short distance from Tahrir Square.
