Skipper Hossam Ashour and in-form winger Walid Soliman are likely to end their careers at Ahly as both players signed new two-year deals with Egypt's most successful club on Friday. Ahly said on their official website that defensive midfielder Ashour and winger Soliman, who were due to be out of contract at the end of the season, penned the new deals without setting any pre-conditions. The news will be a welcome boost for a formidable club who look well-equipped to win a third consecutive Egyptian league title and their 11th in the last 12 editions. Skipper Ashour is a fan favourite, having won dozens of titles with Ahly since making his first-team debut in 2004. The 31-year-old, who is consistently lauded for his stout defending in the heart of Ahly's midfield, won 10 league and five African Champions League titles among other numerous accolades. Soliman, 33, has been one of Ahly's key performers since joining in 2011 from fellow Egyptian Premier League club Enppi. He played an instrumental role in guiding the Red Devils to two Champions League triumphs in 2012 and 2013, scoring a famous goal in the final of the former edition against Tunisia's Esperance. Ahly also said other key players whose deals expire at the end of the season, including Egyptian international playmaker Abdallah El-Said and right-back Ahmed Fathi, will have their contracts extended soon.
