Mosaad Fouda head of the General Union for Arab Artists has appointed actor and director Mazen El-Gharabawy as General Coordinator for Arabic Theatre Cooperation and Exchange. El-Gharabawy was director of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Theatre Festival for Youth. In this position, he will be delivering a plan for theatrical exchange between Arab countries. El-Gharabawy has told Al-Ahram that his intention is to bring all Arab countries together, and will work towards setting up agreements and protocols that aim to preserve and develop the identity of Arab theatre. In his new post El-Gharabawy has already signed a protocol of cooperation with Carthage Theatre Days in Tunisia, during a conference attended by the Egyptian ambassador in Tunisia, Nabil Habashy, in addition to head of the National Theatre Festival, Hassan Attia, among others from the theatre scene.
