Wydad Casablancaùs talented winger Ismail El-Haddad said his side's prime focus was not to concede a goal against Ahly after the Moroccan side were crowned African champions following their 2-1 aggregate win in the Champions League final.
Going into the return leg in Casablanca having drawn 1-1 with Ahly in Alexandria last week, Wydad emerged 1-0 winners, thanks to a header from Walid El-Karti in the 69th minute.
"The most important thing was not to concede a goal in the return leg," El-Haddad told BeIN Sports TV channel after the game.
"We knew that Ahly were going to press us from the outset, and we struggled to get into the game throughout the first 15 minutes.
"Finally we managed to bring a title that remained elusive for 25 years."
Wydad have won their second Champions League title in their history after winning their maiden accolade in 1992.
The Moroccans have now qualified for next month's Club World Cup in the UAE.
