Egyptian Minister of Tourism Yehia Rashed said weekly low-cost flights between Milan and the Red Sea resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Marsa Alam will be soon be re-launched, after being halted two years ago. Rashed is participating in the TTG Incontri tourism exhibition in Rimini, Italy, this week and has signed an agreement to launch the flights with the commercial manager of Air Cairo, a low-cost subsidiary of EgyptAir, according to a statement from the ministry. Flights between Milan and Sharm El-Sheikh will operate from 29 October, and flights to Marsa Alam will being on 3 December. The minister also met with the representatives of tour operator TUI Italia, who stressed Egypt will be an important tourist destination during the near future. TUI said the current season has seen an increase in the number of tourists visiting Sharm El-Sheikh, adding that the multinational tour operator will start promoting tours along the Holy Family's journey in Egypt by the beginning of 2018, on the company's online booking site. Rashed also discussed the importance of increasing tourism traffic during the winter season to Sharm El-Sheikh during his meeting with representatives from Alpitor and Francorosso tour agencies. The Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition was equipped with virtual reality that showcased Egyptian attractions. The exhibition is attended by more than 60,000 visitors from about 130 countries.
