His work was displayed in solo exhibitions in Egypt, at Picasso Gallery and Gallery Misr, as well as internationally, including in Beirut, Norway and the United States. Shafik was a member of the Association of Egyptian Artists and the Cairo Atelier for Writers and Artists.
