Egyptian league clubs, EFA agree to raise number of foreign players for each club

The clubs of the Egyptian Premier League have agreed with the Egyptian Football Association to register four foreign players in each team's squad, instead of the previous three.
"The majority approved registering four foreign players instead of three in each team squad for the new season," the EFA revealed in a statement on its official Facebook page on Monday after a meeting between the board and the presidents of the clubs.
"The meeting also discussed the fans' return to the stands, as there will be another meeting with interior ministry officials to set the ways to allow fans to enter the stadiums, the allowed numbers, and the responsibilities of each club," the statement added.
Egypt has been holding domestic football games behind closed doors since February 2012 when violence erupted at a number of matches, with dozens killed and injured.
The Egyptian Premier League new season is set to start on 15 September when champions Ahly and arch-rivals Zamalek will play army-owned clubs Talae El-Geish and El-Entag El-Harby respectively.
