Egypt coach Cuper to see out his contract with team, says EFA member

Egypt's national team coach Hector Cuper will remain in his job until the end of his contract, despite a recent loss against Tunisia, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) member Khaled Latif announced on Monday.
According to Latif, the EFA board members have expressed their confidence in Cuper and wish him to stay on in the role.
"We held a meeting with Egypt national team coach Hector Cuper, in the presence of several EFA members, to discuss his future with the team after the loss against Tunisia in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers," Latif said in a radio programme on Monday.
"Cuper will stay on his position as Egypt national team coach, despite the poor result, because we are confident in his ability to lead the team," said Latif.
The Pharaohs' last competitive game was against Tunisia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June, when they lost 1-0 at Rades Stadium in Tunisia.
Egypt will face Uganda in the third round of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers on 31 August in Uganda.
"We didn't discuss anyone replacing Cuper in his post, because the EFA management chose the Argentinean coach by a majority vote," the EFA board member added.
"Cuper will continue to lead the national team until the end of his contract, regardless of the results of matches in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers," Latif concluded.
