Ahly sealed an Egypt Cup semi-final berth after coming from one goal down to beat Wadi Degla 4-1 at Cairo's El-Salam Stadium on Wednesday. After falling down to a goal from Mohamed Anwar in the 24th minute, Saleh Gomaa ensured his side went into the dressing room having already equalized after scoring from the spot just four minutes later. With just 15 minutes left till the end of regular time, Wadi Degla's Mohamed Helal was guilty of a rash challenge against right-back Bassem Ali, only for the referee to instantly point to the spot. In a similar fashion to his first-half spot-kick goal, playmaker Gomaa converted himself from 12 yards having sent the keeper the wrong way, with now Ahly taking the lead. Winger Moemen Zakareya then came to ensure his side's victory against Degla, managed by ex-Zamalek manager Mido, just two minutes from time when he brilliantly headed in Amr Gamal's pin-point cross to make it three. But it wasn't the end of Ahly's goals though, with substitute Emad Meteb scoring in the second minute of stoppage time after Hossam Ghaly preferred to pass the ball to the Ahly striker when the midfielder had the chance to score himself. Ahly now meet the winner from the match between Smouha and league runners-up Maqassa, who face off next week.
