The popular studies series by the General Authority for Culture Palaces (GACP)has published recently Dr Mohamed Hassan Ghanem's The Children's Singing, or Ghena' Al-Atfal. The GACP is interested in a psychological reading of society through folklore, especially children's songs. The book combines two chapters: the first is a collection of children's songs, from school, religious songs, songs that sing about artists, and songs about Ramadan and the feast. The second chapter is a psychological reading via analysing the essence of the songs. The author deduces that these songs in contemporary folklore explain social mentalities in society.
