Egyptian band Karkadan will perform Stand Alone Cat Stevens Tribute Night at Cairo's Room Art Space on 23 March. The night will feature a solo guitar and vocal performance of musical hits by Stevens, a British rock star known for his 60s and 70s classics Wild World, the First Cut is the Deepest, and Father and Son. Karkadan, a name that stands for rhinocerous, was started in 2011 by songwriter and composer Kareem El Ghalid. The band delivers a rock orientation of Arabic songs focusing on Egyptian culture.
