Egypt's well known caricaturist and comedian Ali Quandil will host a stand-up comedy workshop on 16 March at the Osiris for Arts and Training centre. The workshop will focus on the practical and theoretical components of performing in front of a live audience and on camera. Participants will learn the basics of stand-up comedy, the art of language, content creation and script writing. The practical part of the workshop includes confidence training to prepare participants to confront a large crowd. Quandil has performed over 400 live shows combining drama, magic tricks and music and has previously trained 35 stand-up comedians. He is also well-known for launching the Ayez Masrah (I want a stage) campaign in 2014, which works to re-open closed theatres for use by youth across the country.
