Egypt will hold a training camp in Cairo starting from 24 March and are looking to play a warm up game ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that will start in June. The Pharaohs have set 28 March as a date for the game but the opponent has not been determined yet. Coach Hector Cuper had limited choices as only Sierra Leone and Togo have declared themselves available for the game. According to Ahram Sport, the Argentinean tactician prefers to face the Togolese who featured in the 2017 AFCON. Egypt has been paired with North African rivals Tunisia, Niger and Swaziland in Group J of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers. They will start their campaign against Tunisia in the period from 5 to 13 June. The seven-time African Champions finished runners up of the 2017 AFCON in an impressive return to Africa's elite for the first time since 2010.
