Zamalek playmaker Ayman Hefni scored two goals during Monday's game against Talae El-Geish, guiding his team to a precious 3-2 win in the Egyptian Premiere League. Despite being hit with an early goal, the Whites cleverly controlled the game, scoring two first half goals by Hefni and a third goal in the second half by Nigerian striker Stanley Ohawuchi. The Cairo giants were in urgent need for a victory to improve their position in the Egyptian League table and to boost the position of coach Mohamed Helmi, who recently came under fire after the league loss to El-Entag El-Harby before getting Saturday's vote of confidence. Zamalek advanced to the third place with 37 points, 12 behind leaders and archrivals Ahly, who played two more games. El-Geish remains seventh with 26 points. Zamalek was dealt a blow after just 13 minutes of the game when El-Geish midfielder Assem Salah managed to score the opener from a penalty shot. Ayman Hefni evened the score five minutes later after he eased past the defenders; hitting the net with a nice curling shot that left El-Geish's keeper helpless. Zamalek's dominance continued as Hefni perfectly followed up after an attack by teammate Bassem Morsi was blocked by El-Geish defenders just one minute before the half-hour mark, doubling the score for Zamalek. Hefni continued his superb performance in the remaining minutes before the break, aiming for a hat-trick, but El-Geish remained a stiff opponent. Both teams shared a strong start in the second half but without a real threat. In the 54th minute, striker Stanley Ohawuchi received a nice pass from Shawki El-Said to score the third with a perfect header. El-Geish kept the pressure on Zamalek; getting another advantage on minute 78 when midfielder Mohamed Ashraf managed to score the second with a perfect rocketing shot. Both sides continued pushing for the opposing net in the remaining minutes with no goals scored.
