Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met on Wednesday in Cairo with a delegation of MPs from the European Conservatives and Reformists bloc in the European parliament, the Egyptian presidency announced. President El-Sisi discussed with the European MPs the latest developments in the region and the efforts by Egypt promote the reaching of political settlements in regional conflicts. The president also discussed Egyptian efforts to stem the tide of irregular migration. El-Sisi also stressed the importance of European Union support for the economic development of Middle Eastern and African countries, which will in turn reduce the flow of irregular migration. The European MPs praised Egypt's leading role in Africa and the Middle East and promised to convey their positive impression about the situation in Egypt to their colleagues in the European Union.
