Egypt's squash stars Mohamed Elshorbagy and Ramy Ashour have reached Al-Ahram Squash Open quarterfinals on Monday after beating Australia's Cameron Pilley and countryman Omar Abdel Meguid respectively. The 25-year-old Elshorbagy, who has been on top of the men's world ranking since November 2014, defeated Pilley 3-1 (9/11, 11/7, 11/9, 11/8). He will face Germany's Simon Rosner in the quarters on Wedensday. Former World Champion Ashour, 28, defeated Abdel-Meguid 3-1 (11/5, 5/11, 11/7, 11/6). Ashour will play against Egyptian compatriot Ali Farag who defeated Fares Dessouki 3-0 in round of 16. Al-Ahram Open, one of the major tournaments in the squash world, rejoins the PSA World Tour calendar for the first time since 2001 with $100,000 worth of prizes for each of the men and women's events. The tournament's main draw started on Monday and will run until 23 September.
