The new season of the Egyptian Premier League kicks off Thursday with easy games as Aswan faces Dakhlya and Enppi play new comers El-Nasr while the big guns to start their league mission Saturday with title holders Ahly facing Ismaily. Last month, Minister of Sports Khaled Abdel-Aziz announced that the new league season 2016/2017 would start in September without fans attendance for the fourth straight year. Thursday's games will witness the appearance of low ranked Aswan, who were close to relegation last season after finishing 15th in the team rankings, playing against Dakhleya at 17:00 Cairo local time. Enppi, who finished in the 10th place last season, will face newcomers El-Nasr at 21:00 CLT. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Premier League title holders Ahly will face a tough test Saturday against Ismaily. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has postponed Zamalek's opener game against El-Entag El-Harby as the Whites will play Moroccan side Wydad in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals Friday. Ahly took the league title last season after topping the table with 76 points, seven points over runners up and rivals Zamalek.
