Ahly have boosted their central midfield position by signing ENPPI and Egypt's national youth team player Akram Tawfik on a five-year-contract, the club announced on Sunday. "Signing Akram Tawfik is an effective addition to the team squad ahead of the new season's competitions," Ahly marketing manager Essam Seraj said on Sunday. The 18-year-old is a promising central midfielder in the youth squad and is expected to play alongside Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour or Amr El-Sulaya. Tawfik is Ahly's sixth signing during the ongoing summer transfer window after signing Petrojet goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy, winger Ali Maaloul and Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi from Tunisian side Sfaxien, Maqassa midfielder Mido Gaber and Ismaliy striker Marwan Mohsen.
