Egypt's FM holds talks with African counterparts at Rwanda summit
Issues addressed with counterparts included the conflict that has reignited in South Sudan and concerns over Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shouky held talks Wednesday with African counterparts on the conflict in South Sudan and relations between Nile Basin countries as part of his current visit to Rwanda.
Shoukry is in the Rwandan capital Kigali for an African Union summit on human rights and women's rights.
TheEgyptian minister held talks with his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Ghandour on "regional and international efforts to contain the conflict in South Sudan," a statement by the ministry said, after heavy fighting erupted last week in the capital Juba between followers of President Salva Kiir and Riek Machar, the former rebel leader who became vice president under terms of an agreement to end a two-year civil war.
Shoukry also sat with Uganda's foreign minister, Sam Kutesa, on the sidelines ofthe 29th ordinary session of the African Union's executive council, two leaders tackling relations between Nile Basin countries.
Shoukry reitated that "achieving the interests of all parties and causing no harm should be the governing rule of relations between Nile Basin countries," the statement added.
Egypt has been particularly concerned by a mega dam project Ethiopia is building that Cairo fears will hugely diminish its share of Nile water — its main source of potable water.
Shouky also held discussions with Ghana's foreign minister, Hanna Tetteh, in which the two addressed mutual ties and counter-terrorism efforts.
