Qatari winger Yasser denies seeking Zamalek return Outcast Hussein Yasser says he has no plans to return to Zamalek after unilaterally rescinding his contract with them
Qatari winger Hussein Yasser has denied on Sunday reports suggesting that he seeks to return to Zamalek. The Egyptian-born player unilaterally annulled his Zamalek contract to join Belgian side Lierse S.K, who are owned by Egyptian businessman Maged Samy, after growing increasingly frustrated with the Cairo club's failure to hand him his overdue payments. Recent reports said he is seeking to resolve his dispute with Zamalek, who threatened to lodge a complaint with world governing body FIFA, but he insisted he would stay with Lierse. “Zamalek officials always deceive the fans and spread rumors. They said that I asked them to return, which is not true,” Yasser said in a phone interview with Ahram Online. “I made a final decision, I will not return to Zamalek although I love this club and its fans. “FIFA will issue a temporarily international transfer certificate to allow me to play for Lierse,” he added. Yasser joined Zamalek in January 2010 after his contract with arch-rivals Ahly expired. He excelled in the latter stages of last season, scoring several decisive goals as the White Knights finished runners up to Egyptian Premier League champions Ahly.
