Ultras Ahlawy accused of rioting released
Ahly fans celebrate the release of their colleagues, detained in recent clashes with police at a football game, with chants against Mubarak and police brutality

Nasr City criminal count released seven members of Ultras Ahlawy on Wednesday after 22 days in custody; their sentences will be announced on 30 November.
Sixteen hardcore Ahly fans were arrested during a round of 32 match between Ahly and Kima Aswan that featured clashes between supporters and police leaving 135 injured from both sides.
They were accused of rioting, damaging private and public properties, attacking policemen, and burning vehicles.
Ultras Ahlawy have denied rioting during the match, saying they only hurled insults against former interior minister Habib El-Adly and ousted president Hosni Mubarak, who are both being tried on charges of killing peaceful protestors during the January 25 Revolution.
Hundreds of Ultras Ahlawy celebrated the release of their friends outside the court, alongside Zamalek and Ismaily Ultras, and chanted slogans against the old regime and police brutality.
After the January 25 Revolution, the involvement of Egyptian football fans in politics became deep-rooted as they played a key role in the demonstrations that ousted Mubarak.
