Egyptian World number two Rami Ashour beat Frenchman Gregory Gaultier 3/0 in 69 minutes on Friday to advance to the semi-finals of Manchester Rowe British Grand Prix. In the other all Egyptian quarter-final of the night Karim Darwish beat unseeded, world number 14, Omar Mosaad 3/0 in 57 minutes. The Grand Prix semifinals feature three Egyptians: Ashour, Darwish and four times world champion Amr Chabana, who will face world number one Englishman Nick Matthew. Ashour is seeking to win the trophy to bridge the 50-point gap with world number one Matthew.
