After ex-MP Mortada Mansour yelled at a witness, the judge bans him from the court in the trial against high officials who allegedly ordered the killing of peaceful protesters during the Battle of the Camel Judge Mustafa Hassan Abdullah, who presides over the Battle of the Camel trial, decided to prevent defendant Mortada Mansour from attending the coming sessions for misconduct. Notorious lawyer Mansour, one of the famous public figures accused of instigating the Battle of the Camel, interrupted an eyewitness and accused him of perjury while the latter was testifying. Consequently, Judge Hassan ordered security to escort Mansour out, who is renowned for his recurrent tantrums and eccentric behaviour. He further decided to keep him away from the courtroom. Mohamed Ali testified that Mansour and a group of thugs had incited pro-Mubarak protesters to attack demonstrators in Tahrir Square ahead of the Battle of the Camel, which took place on 2 February. Ali's testimony enraged the temperamental Mansour, who yelled at that witness: “Behave yourself; I'm no thug.” With his trademark high-pitch tone, the former parliamentarian repeatedly swore that the eyewitness was lying. His behaviour was deemed unacceptable by the judge. “To ensure that smooth proceedings, the court rules that you will not attend the upcoming sessions,” Hassan told Mansour after his outburst. Mansour pleaded with the judge, stating that he would not continue with such an attitude but,the trial session endedseconds later.
