Supporters of the internationally recognized winner of Ivory Coast's presidential election say they will try to seize state institutions again even though at least 20 people died during a similar effort on Thursday.
Alassane Ouattara's supporters will march Friday on government buildings and hold a Cabinet meeting, according to Guillaume Soro, whom Ouattara named as his prime minister. Incumbent Laurent Gbagbo's supporters and troops occupy state institutions after Gbagbo said he won the November poll.
Ouattara's camp said 30 people died Thursday when supporters clashed with Gbagbo's soldiers. Gbagbo's camp said 20 died, including 10 police officers killed by protesters.
Thursday's violence led the U.S. and other nations to tell Gbagbo to step down and leave the country within days or face travel and financial sanctions.
