Arsenal's Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny said on Wednesday his side have to work hard and fight to win trophies next season. The Gunners appeared on course to win their first Premier League title since 2004 but poor results last month dealt a major blow to their hopes as unfancied Leicester seemed ready to cause a huge upset and lift the prestigious trophy. With three games remaining, Arsenal are fourth in the table, 12 points behind leaders Leicester City. "If it's not meant to be this season we need to work hard and fight to win the title next year," Elneny told Arsenal magazine on Wednesday. "Personally I am here to help Arsenal win trophies. We want to make the fans happy and bring back the golden times." Elneny, who was Arsenal's only winter signing after joining from Basel, revealed that coach Arsene Wenger asked him to shoot less from distance. The Egyptian international scored several goals from distance for Swiss club Basel in the first half of the season but he said he had to adjust his style to suit that of Arsenal. "I used to shoot a lot when I was at Basel but sometimes that doesn't suit our style here," he added "Wenger taught me to be more of a team player and to be intelligent in terms of when I shoot. I also paid attention to my teammates and took their advice. That has helped me to improve my performances already."
