Member of The Egyptian Initiative to Win Back Egypt's Stolen Money in Spain, Motaz Salah El-Din, says the Initiative has succeeded in getting the Spanish judge working on Hussein Salem's case to start the process of handing over Salem's son and daughter, Khaled and Magda, back to Egypt. Salem, Egyptian business tycoon, is accused of multiple charges of corruption and money laundering and is currently held by Spanish authorities. His son and daughter are accused of money laundering 2,000 million Euros and were arrested in Spain between 12 and 18 July. Salah El-Din says that the Initiative is also working on obtaining a permit to stage a mass demonstration in front of the Ministry of Justice in Spain on 5September, demanding that Hussein Salembe handed over to Egypt. He says that Ibrahim Abou El-Rous, head of the Egyptian community in Spain, has presented the authorities with a written request. The Initiative has staged one demonstration before in front of the Spanish Foreign Ministry to pressure the Spanish government to hand Salem over to Egypt. The Egyptian community in Spain has also filed a court case demanding the same. Salem, a confidante of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, was on the run since 3 February. He was arrested in his villa in Majorca, Spain in June 2011.
