Legendary Lebanese singer Sabah, age 86, arrived in Cairo last night to celebrate the success of the "Shahroura" television series being screemed over the month of Ramadan. The television show is based on her autobiography and stars Lebanese singer and actress Carol Samaha. After her long absense from Egypt, Sabah arrived yesterday night and received a warm welcome from the show's crew and production team, as well as a number of her Egyptian fans. A folkloric show, including a tanoura dance and singers, was put on at the airport to welcome one of the Arab world's greatest stars. On arrival in Egypt, Sabah denied rumours of feeling disgraced by the TV series and filing a lawsuit against its production company. Since the beginning of Ramadan, rumours began to spread that Sabah was unhappy with her onscreen portrayal. It was also said that the series focused only on minor events in Sabah's life, ignoring more crucial ones.
