Ahly coach Martin Jol eyes all titles despite scoring problem
Former Tottenham manager Martin Jol spoke to Ahly's magazine about his preparations for winning this season's titles despite facing an attack problem

Ahly's newly-appointed Dutch manager Martin Jol is worried about his team's front-line performance due to the lack of goals they have scored and repeated missed opportunities.
"When I watched the team's recent games, I noticed that they have a problem with missing scoring opportunities -- especially in the first half -- so this is the issue that I'm working on now," the former Tottenham Hotspur manager told the club's magazine in a long interview published this week.
"Strikers are supposed to score. Evouna, Amr Gamal, Moemen Zakareya, Abdullah El-Said and Ramadan Sobhi are the team's attackers.
"I must solve their scoring problems and make them capable of making a difference like Mohamed Abou-Treika and Mohamed Barakat [former Ahly stars]," the 60-year-old explained.
"I believe if two strikers scored 15 goals this season, then I can consider the problem solved," he stated.
Jol has also talked about injured key player Emad Meteb and the preparation for new faces in the attacking line-up.
"I am depending on Emad Meteb to solve this problem but he is currently injured," Jol said.
"Ahmed El-Shiekh scored nine goals with his former club Maqassa and if he can prove his worth, I will be depending on him, alongside the youngster Ahmed Hamdy," Jol added.
Jol insisted that Ahly are eyeing the African Champions League trophy despite Saturday's goalless draw in the kick-off of for their bid against Angolan champions Recreativo de Libolo in round 32 away.
"We have enough motivation to win the African Champions League title. We have a very outstanding team so we must do our best to make our dream come true through scoring and winning," Jol stressed, pointing out the importance of scoring early in the home second-led game on Saturday in Cairo.
Ahly are representing Egypt in the African Champions League this season alongside league winners Zamalek after placing second in the Egyptian Premier League last season.
Zamalek were luckier than Ahly in their Champions League bid kick-off defeating Cameroon's Union Douala away on Sunday.
Regarding the Egyptian League, the Dutch acknowledged that the competition is not easy, despite his team leading the table with 47 points, six ahead of arch-rivals Zamalek.
"We must fight for the league title and not lose a single point on our way to the trophy. The competition will not be only between Ahly and Zamalek as there are many teams that are capable of making a difference," Jol concluded.
