Watford's Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo said on Tuesday he is fit to lead Nigeria's frontline in their upcoming Nations Cup qualifying games against Egypt this month. The Super Eagles will host the Pharaohs on 25 March in Kaduna before playing them again four days later at Borg El-Arab stadium in Alexandria. Ighalo, who was on target in Watford's stunning 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday, failed to complete the game due to injury and several reports suggested he would miss Egypt's clash. "It's not true that I was injured. I was taken off as a precautionary measure by the coach who didn't want to risk anything. There's nothing to be worried about as I'm fit,” the 26-year-old toldNigerian site Complete Sports. Ighalo, who has scored 15 goals in the Premier League with Watford so far, is confident that Nigeria will reach the next year's Nations Cup finals in Gabon and that they will not disappoint their fans again. The 2013 African champions failed to reach the 2015 edition after ending third in their group behind South Africa and Congo. "We know what is at stake and we will not disappoint. We have to win to brighten our chances and personally, I believeto qualify for the Nations Cup is top priority for us," he added. With only the group winners guaranteed automatic qualification for the 2017 finals, second-placed Nigeria have no choice but to beat current group leaders Egypt to improve their position in the group. Egypt are leading group G with six points, two ahead of Nigeria.
