Dutch coach Martin Jol starts mission with Ahly against Maqassa
Martin Jol has a good impression of Ahly's players but sees room for improvement with the teams tactics

Former Tottenham Hotspur coach and Ahly's newly appointed manager Martin Jol will officially start his mission with the Cairo giants when the team plays Maqassa on the 21st matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday, the Dutch coach's agent announced.
Dutchman Jol watched Ahly's 2-0 win over Petrojet on Wednesday from the stands, one day after announcing that he signed a contract with the Red Devils. He looked unsatisfied with a poor first-half display but the deep-lying playmaker El-Said converted a penalty and scored another goal in the space of four minutes to put pressure on Zamalek.
Ahly, who are leading the Egyptian Premier League teams' table with 44 points, are scheduled to face Maqassa on Saturday.
"Jol will start his mission with Ahly beginning with the Maqassa game on Saturday," the coach's agent Mohamed Habashy told a television programme after the game.
"He was watching Ahly over the past few days on television and on the internet," Habashy continued.
"He has a good impression of the players but is still collecting information about them," Jol's agent added.
"Jol determined some weak points in the players' performances, such as keeping the ball for long time as well as randomly playing during the Petrojet game. But in general, he has a good impression of the players," Habashy said.
The 60-year-old tactician arrived on Monday afternoon at Cairo Airport to lead the Reds for a year-and-a-half.
Jol's primary task will be helping Ahly win the premier domestic competition after their eight-season hegemony was ended by Zamalek last term. The club is also seeking to win a record-extending ninth African Champions League title and their first since 2013.
Jol is a former coach of many European outfits including Tottenham, Scheveningen, Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk, Hamburger SV and Ajax but has been out of action since leaving Fulham in December 2013.
