Ex-Tottenham coach Martin Jol to restart career in Egypt's Ahly
Jol is most likely to be Ahly's new coach after consulting his former players Ghaly and Mido

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol is expected to be officially unveiled soon as new coach of Egyptian club Ahly.
"Of course I like to work in Egypt. I follow Egyptian football especially because of the African Cup. Egypt is a fantastic country and it's really nice for me to work there," the 60-year-old told Egyptian sports website Filgoal early Tuesday.
The Cairo-based club have unveiled that they have reached verbal agreements with four foreign coaches including the Dutch, asserting that he is their favorite.
The record holders of seven African Champions Leagues and 37 Egyptian Premier Leagues are currently being coached by interim Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafy 'Zizo' following sudden departure of Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro in late January.
Their old rivals, the domestic league title-holders Zamalek, are also searching for a successor of sacked Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam and Jol was a candidate as well.
"Zamalek is a big club and Ahly is the biggest club in the Middle East with 40 or 50 million fans as Mido told me. I follow Egyptian football because of Mido and Ghaly," Jol added.
"Mido and Ghaly gave me very positive comments. I follow Mido because he was with me at Ajax and Tottenham and I took Ghaly from Feyenoord to Tottenham and he is a very good talent. He is Ahly's captain now," Jol concluded, echoing what Ghaly and Mido revealed to domestic media earlier.
Jol is a former coach of many European outfits including Tottenham, Scheveningen, Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk, Hamburger SV and Ajax and he has been out of action since he left Fulham in December 2013.
Ahly are currently leading in the Egyptian league table with 40 points after playing 18 matches, five ahead of Zamalek.
