Algeria defender Madjid Bougherra won the 2010 Algerian Golden Ball award for the second consecutive year. Bougherra's outstanding performance this year helped him beat fellow Algerian international players Rafik Halliche (Fulham), Djabou Abdelmoumene (ES Setif), Karim Matmour (Borussia Monchengladbach) and Napoli midfielder Hassan Yebda. The poll results were announced Monday night by Algerian newspaper El Heddaf. The 28-year-old player led his team, Glasgow Rangers FC, as the club won both the Scottish league and cup titles last season. Bougherra was also a key player in Algeria's successful campaign to reach the 2010 World Cup. French club Sochaux's midfielder Ryad Boudebouz was nominated for the Best Young Player award, while Djabou was crowned as the best player in the Algerian league. Bochum's defender Antar Yahia won the Goal of the Decade award for his crucial shot against Egypt in the deciding 1-0 victory ahead of the World Cup finals.
