Mohamed Salah has 'good understanding' with Roma's El Shaarawy and Perotti

Roma's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is pleased with his new role under coach Luciano Spalletti, saying he enjoys a "good understanding" with new recruits Diego Perotti and Stephan El Shaarawy.
The 23-year-old, who played on the right of a three-pronged frontline, ended a seven-match goal drought in the Italian Serie A when he set Roma on their way to a 2-0 victory over Sassuolo on Tuesday.
He curled a superb left-foot shot home from the edge of the area to put Roma ahead after 11 minutes before El Shaarawy, who is on loan from AC Milan, wrapped up the win deep in stoppage time.
"I played in a new role and I think I played well, I enjoyed playing there," Salah told Roma TV.
"They [El Shaarawy and Perotti] are two excellent players, we have a good understanding and I hope we'll keep getting better."
Salah scored his first goal since finding the net in Roma's 2-1 victory over former club Fiorentina, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, in October.
He spent a month on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury in the Rome derby against Lazio on 8 November, after which he failed to recapture his best form.
"My injury was a difficult one, my return was delayed and it took me time to get back to my best form. We had a lot of chances in the first half and we took some but not others, in the end winning was all that matters," he added.
Salah has scored six Serie A goals and one UEFA Champions League goal so far this season.
