Mohamed Salah failed to score for the third successive Serie A game as AS Roma were held to a 3-3 draw by Chievo Verona in a thrilling clash on Wednesday. The Egyptian international, who has not been at his best since recovering from an ankle ligament injury last month, drew a blank again and was guilty of squandering a goal-scoring chance as Roma failed to hold onto their lead. Salah had a chance to put Roma 3-1 up on 55 minutes when he was found unmarked by a mis-hit shot but he flicked the ball then it blasted it high over with the goal at his mercy, with Chievo restoring parity three minutes later. Roma then went 3-2 up through an Iago Falque goal but Chievo secured a share of spoils with an 86th-minute goal from Simone Pepe. Salah, who joined Roma from English champions Chelsea in the summer, has not found the net since scoring in a 2-1 win over his former club Fiorentina, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, in October. The 23-year-old has scored five Serie A goals and one UEFA Champions League goal so far this season. Roma are fifth in the Serie A table with 33 points, five behind leaders Fiorentina.
