Egypt's Suez Canal achieves $449.2 million in July
Revenues from the waterway are up 11 per cent on the same period last year and 0.9 per cent on June, say government figures

Revenue from Egypt's Suez Canal rose 11 per cent year-on-year to US$449.2 million in July, up 0.9 per cent from a month earlier, a government portal showed on Wednesday.
Revenue in July 2010 was $406.2 million. In June 2011 it was $445.2 million.
The waterway is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
