The novelist Ahmed Sabri Abul Fotouh has put the final touches to his new novel, The Agenda of Said El-Ahly, which is scheduled to be released shortly from Dar Al-Ain. Abul Fotouh's novel deals with the 25 January revolution, but from a unique perspective. It follows the story of a drug dealer, who was one of the people released by the police from prisons to terrorise the people and to undermine the revolution. Fotouh confirms that, thanks to timing, he is not afraid of being too direct. He says, "I follow the approach of the French and English schools in writing about revolutions, such as A Tale of Two Cities and Les Miserables. The main line in the story is the human line, while talking about the revolution comes in the background." Dar Al-Ain will publish the new book after Eid al-Fitr, the feast marking the end of Ramadan. Abul Fotouh also signed a contract with the same publishing house to publish the final two volumesof his five-volume epic, Al-Saraswah. Ahmed Sabri Abul Fotouh was born in 1953. He published a collection of short stories entitled Death of Master Hanna (2000), and two novels: Thorn Bird (1998) and The Republic of The Two Lands (2004), in addition to the first three volumes of Al-Saraswah: Exodus, Genesis and Other Days, which were published by Merit publishing house. Another completed work, Adam's Apple, has yet to appear.
