El-Hadary pauses attempts to leave El-Merreikh, enjoys Ramadan's vacation

Egypt's goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary's hopes to leave the Sudanese league may have vanished, stopping talks with Maqassa, reportedly after they got the opinion of Ahly's VP El-Khatib
Egypt and El-Merreikh goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary has confirmed that he is no longer interested in joining Egyptian Premier League's side Maqassa, confirming that, for the time being, he is not ready to discuss any new offer.
“The negotiations with Maqassa are over and I am sure they will not resume again,” the veteran keeper said on his official website Monday.
Despite reaching further stages in their talks with the Sudanese giants, Maqassa announced on Saturday that they halted talks to sign El-Hadary amid reports that Ahly's VP, Mahmoud El-Khatib advised them not to sign the player.
El-Khatib is believed to have told Maqassa officials that El-Hadary would not benefit them, given the many problems he had with several clubs, like Zamalek, Ismaily and Egyptian champions Ahly, whom he left in an acrimonious manner in February 2008 to join Swiss Side Sion.
The 38-year-old keeper, who joined El-Merreikh last January, said recently that he would leave the club, claiming that several Egyptian and European clubs are interested in acquiring his services, but now it seems he may remain in Sudan in the coming season.
“I am in Egypt to spend a short vacation with my family. I will not discuss any new offers within the holy month of Ramadan,” the Pharaohs star explained.
“I will arrange my return date to El-Merreikh with the club board and the technical staff,” the four-time African Cup of Nations winner concluded.
