El-Selmi severely criticized for raising doubts over Tahrir Square protesters The Free Front for Peaceful Change slated Deputy Prime Minister Ali El-Selmi for raising doubts over Tahrir Square protesters
The Free Front for Peaceful Change chided Deputy Prime Minister Ali El-Selmi after his recently publicised statements that the protesters currently occupying Tahrir Square are not the original revolutionaries who had staged a sit-in during the January 25 Revolution. The front replied that El-Selmi, who is responsible for running the National Dialogue, would not have been appointed as deputy prime minister if it was not for the pressure they piled on to force the latest ministerial reshuffle. “These are strange statements from the man responsible for the National Dialogue, in which many different political forces are taking part,” the front's reply reads. “What real revolutionaries is he talking about? He did not bother to go to Tahrir Square to see them himself.” The front believes El-Selmi depended on faulty media reports to form his stance on the ongoing sit-in.
