The controversial film of a woman steeped in the limitations of Arab society who prepares herself to become a dancer will be screened Tuesday with Lebanese writer and director Jocelyne Saab in attendance Instituto Cervantes, the Spanish cultural institute, will host the screening of Dunia, Kiss Me Not on the Eyes Tuesday 26 July at 6:30. A hit at Sundance, Dunia, the protagonist, struggles with her role as a woman in an Arab society where she is anything but typical. Beautiful and talented: she defies Arab negativities about dancing and becomes a dancer. Beautiful and smart: she defies the traditional role as homemaker-wife in pursuit of a master's degree. Beautiful and married: her mother worries her husband will force her to undergo clitoral circumcision. Mohamed Mounir adds his vocals and his counsel to Dunia in the movie.
