Wafd officially notifies parliament of MP membership freeze
The head of the Wafd has notified parliament of the suspension of Wafd candidates who ran and gained seats in parliament despite the party's stated boycott

Said El-Badawy, head of the Wafd Party, sent an official letter today to the head of parliament notifying him that the party's high committee has decided to freeze the party membership of seven Wafd MPs who gained seats in the second round of Egypt's parliamentary elections, defying a party decision to boycott the round.
The MPs are: Tarek Sabeq, Safir Nour, Magda El-Mouweishy, Atef El-Shamouny, Saad El-Meleegy, Hamada Mansour and Mohamed El-Malky.
