Egypt seek to tempt Masry-bound Youssef as new coach Egypt are in talks to appoint Talaat Youssef as the national team's new coach even though he has agreed to take charge of Masry
Masry's new coach Talaat Youssef revealed on Sunday that the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have approached him to become the national team's new manager. The EFA is on the lookout for a new tactician after failing in their attempts to lure Portuguese Nelo Vingada, who snubbed them to take over at China. “I was waiting for that chance, but I have a problem now because I have just signed a contract with (Egyptian Premier League side) Masry,” Youssef told Ahram Online. “The EFA officials will hold a meeting with Masry's president to negotiate with him the possibility of annulling the contract. I think Masry's decision will be in the best interests of the national team.” Youssef emerged as a candidate to replace Hassan Shehata as Egypt's boss after guiding modest Ittihad El-Shorta to a fourth-place finish in the Egyptian league last season.
