Ahly's Portuguese coach, Manuel Jose rubbished all reports linked him with refusing to coach the Egyptian national team. “I wasn't offered the Egypt job to refuse or agree,” the 65-year old coach announced during a press conference on Wednesday. Jose avoided commenting on the appointment offormer Egypt coach Hassan Shehata as Zamalek manager, succeeding Hossam Hassan in a surprising decision by the White Castle. “How can I know the next coach of the national team? I am not the president of the EFA (Egyptian Football Association),” Jose sarcastically responded to a question during the conference. The EFA had announced weeks ago that they would name Egypt's next coach soon. However,they seem too busy to open the Pharaohs file amid complications that recently erupted in the domestic competitions following the revolution as hooliganism was featured on the Egyptian pitches, certain clubs demanded thecancellation of therelegation system and others pulled confidence from the current board under the presidency of Samir Zaher.
