Al Musafer to be released in Egypt cinemas tomorrow
On Wednesday 13 July, Al Musafer (The Traveller), a film by Ahmed Maher, will be released in major Egypt cinemas

Al Musafer (The Traveller) is a film by Ahmed Maher produced by the Cultural Development Fund and the National Film Centre in 2009 will finally be released in Egyptian cinemas, after postponing its premiere for almost a year and a half.
The film stars internationally-renowned Egyptian actor Omar Sharif, Lebanese singer Serene Abdel-Nour, Khaled El-Nabawi, Amr Waked, Sherif Ramzi and Basma.
Set in 1940s Port Said, 1970s Alexandria and modern-day Cairo, the film descirbes three days in the life of its protagonists.
Upon the finalisation of the movie and its screenings in international festivals, media reports emerged that Omar Sharif was disappointed with the final artistic output of the production. Al-Musafer participated in the official compeition of the Venice Film Festival in its 66th round as well as many other international film festivals including in Abu Dhabi, Munich, Al-Rabat and London. The movie received the UNESCO award on the sidelines of Venice Film Festival as well as the Jury Award of the Rabat International Film Festival.
Al Musafer will be released in Egyptian cinemas - including Nile City cinemas - on Wednesday 13 July.
