Mourinho working on my stay: Togo's Adebayor Togo and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is waiting for Real Madrid stay, claiming Mourinho has promised to make a move for him
Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed on Saturday that he may wait all summer for Real Madrid to take him permanently. "I am prepared to wait until the last minute of the window on 31st August," Adebayor told Marca. The 27-year-old player, who joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in January on a six month loan deal, has said he enjoyed his time in the Spanish capital, making it clear his preference would be to secure a permanent switch to Santiago Bernabeu. "For me, Real Madrid are everything. I love the club,” said Adebayor. The 2008 African player of the year claimed that Real boss Jose Mourinho has promised to work on keeping him in the Royal Club's squad. "Mourinho told me he will do everything to bring me back and I am optimistic that a deal can be done,” the former Arsenal attacker announced. "I don't believe that Manchester City will create any problems and will be happy to sell. I don't think I am of interest to coach Roberto Mancini. "During my loan last season I scored eight goals and that is not a bad return," said Adebayor. "I think I completed my mission, but people in Madrid have not seen the true Adebayor. I can still do much better." Earlier this week, Adebayor snubbed an offer from English side Blackburn Rovers and another from French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, the only sides to express an interest so far.
