CAF say Egyptian league must go pro in 2012
The Confederation of African Football stresses that any Egyptian club who plays in African competitions must have a professional license during 2012/2013

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) requested that the Egyptian Football League (EFA) turn the domestic league professional starting from the 2012/2013 season.
EFA, already under fire for failing to implement a professional system to govern the league, received a letter from CAF which warned them that the 2012/2013 season would be their last chance to go professional.
“The letter stressed that all the Egyptian clubs who will play in African competitions must have the professional license during that season,” EFA chief executive Ehab Saleh was quoted as saying by Ahram Arabic gate on Saturday.
“CAF will send us another letter to clarify the conditions for the transition," he added.
Several clubs sought to oust EFA chairman Samir Zaher after accusing him of failing to follow article 18 of FIFA's regulations, which prohibits the existence of two clubs under the management of one owner in the same competition.
The Premier League currently boasts two clubs owned by the petroleum ministry – Petrojet and ENPPI – and two army-owned clubs – Haras El-Hodoud and El-Geish.
