Wafd announces plans to put up presidential candidate

Fouad Badrawy, the secretary general of the Wafd party denied the media reports yesterday that the party will not participate in the presidential elections. Badrawy stated that the Wafd was going to run candidates for the presidential, parliamentary as well as trade union elections. Badrawy said the party's leading bodies will announce the identity of their presidential candidate "at the right time". He expected this to take place after parliamentary elections.
