Ittihad El-Shorta's coach Talaat Youssef linked to Egypt job
Following the departure of Egypt's coaching staff, Youssef could replace Hassan Shehata in the top job with Nader El-Sayed and Ahmed Hassan possibly joining his technical team

Ittihad El-Shorta manager Talaat Youssef has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Hassan Shehata as Egypt's national team coach.
“Nobody has called me yet but I am only focused on my team's important clash on Thursday against Zamalek,” Youssef told the Egyptian media.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) are still discussing the future of the Pharaohs in the wake of the legendary Shehata's departure following Egypt's goalless draw at home to South Africa. The result ended Egypt's hopes of qualifying for the 2012 African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The 61-year old tactician Shehata led Egypt to three successive ACN titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010 -- the first African nation to achieve this feat.
“The EFA is waiting for El-Shorta's approval for Youssef's exit,” reported Al-Ahram's Arabic Portal on Wednesday.
Former Egypt and Zamalek goalkeeper Nader El-Sayed's name has been forward as Egypt's director of football. However, El-Sayed has said that as yet he has heard nothing but would welcome such an offer.
“We should work together for the sake of Egypt,” said El-Sayed, part of the 1998 ACN winning side. "Serving the national team is an honour for me but nobody has contacted me yet.”
It has also been reported that the 2010 best African-based player and Egypt's captain Ahmed Hassan is being considered to fill the position of assistant coach should he retire from paying at the end of the season. The Ahly star, whose contract with the Cairo giants expires at the end of the season, is yet to decide on his future.
