South Korea beats Ghana 2-1 in friendly
Koo Ja-cheol struck in stoppage time to give South Korea a dramatic 2-1 win over Ghana at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Tuesday in an international friendly match
Published in Ahram Online on 08 - 06 - 2011

The Wolfsburg midfielder, who finished the 2011 Asian Cup as top scorer, was introduced as a second-half substitute and his goal maintains Korea's impressive form, coming four days after a victory over Serbia by the same scoreline.
Korea took the lead after 12 minutes when Ji Dong-won headed a corner into the Ghana net through the hands of goalkeeper Richard Kingson.
Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan missed an immediate chance to equalize when he put sent a penalty kick straight into the arms of Jung Sung-ryeong.
Both teams, who reached the knockout stage of the 2010 World Cup, continued to attack and Ghana grabbed a deserved equalizer after 65 minutes. Sulley Muntari released Gyan and the England-based striker shot low into the Korean net.
With just seconds remaining, Koo scored from close range to give South Korea the win.
