Egypt retrieves stolen artefact from auction in England The Egyptian Museum retrieved Tuesday an artefact that was illegally put up for sale in an auction in England
A second artefact in a fortnight has been returned to the Egyptian Museum as part of the efforts of the foreign minister and the minister of state for antiquities. The artefact was up for sale in an auction in England. Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, the director of the central administration for antiquities, said that the second retrieved piece is made from granite. Many artefacts were stolen from the Egyptian Museum during the January 25 Revolution, which toppled former president Hosni Mubarak on 11 February.
